2024 PokerStars NAPT Returns Bigger Than Ever to Las Vegas
PokerStars Live is set to make a big splash in Las Vegas this November, as the North American Poker Tour (NAPT) returns for its highly anticipated second year at Resorts World Casino. The 2024 tournament series, running from November 1 to 10, promises expanded opportunities for players, with buy-ins stretching from an accessible $250 to a high-stakes $25,000 event.
At the heart of the schedule is the prestigious $5,300 Main Event, boasting a $3 million guaranteed prize pool—an increase from last year’s $1,650 entry. This major boost is anticipated to attract an even larger contingent of players than the inaugural 2023 return.
Alongside the Main Event, the NAPT lineup features an array of marquee tournaments that cater to both seasoned pros and rising poker enthusiasts. Notable highlights include:
– $550 Mystery Bounty (Nov. 1-4)
– $25,000 Super High Roller (Nov. 4-6)
– $10,300 High Roller (Nov. 8-10)
– $550 PokerStars NAPT Cup (Nov. 8-10)
With a diverse schedule and heightened prize pools, the 2024 NAPT is poised to build on the momentum of last year’s successful relaunch.
Reflecting on the 2023 NAPT Revival
Last year marked a significant milestone with PokerStars reviving the NAPT, once discontinued in 2011 due to regulatory changes impacting online poker in the U.S. The November 2023 event quickly reestablished itself as a highlight on the annual poker calendar.
In a memorable finale, former poker dealer Sami Bechahed of Costa Mesa, California, topped a field of 1,095 entrants in the Main Event to claim $268,945—the second-largest prize of his burgeoning poker career.
Bechahed described the win as a defining moment:
“It was by far the highlight of my young professional career. Being able to win against top players at the final table was a huge accomplishment. I’ll be back this year—now traveling from Paris—to defend my title!”
The victory also carried personal significance, as Bechahed’s wife was expecting their first child at the time. The prize money offered timely support as they welcomed their baby boy a month later.

Bechahed’s journey to the title was anything but predictable. With a spontaneous drive to Las Vegas and no hotel booked, he navigated a rollercoaster of highs and lows. “It was really a roller coaster tournament. On Day 1, it took me four re-entries just to advance, and there were times I considered heading home early,” Bechahed recalled. By Day 2, he found himself down to just four big blinds before orchestrating a remarkable comeback and eventually seizing the chip lead at the final table.
Now with over $1.5 million in live tournament earnings, Bechahed encourages others to experience the NAPT for its electrifying atmosphere and top-notch organization.
Online Qualification Expands Player Access
As states across the U.S. adopt their own regulations for online poker, PokerStars has established a strong virtual presence, offering platforms in Michigan and New Jersey (shared liquidity), as well as Pennsylvania and Ontario (ring-fenced). This connectivity has enabled greater access for players looking to qualify for major live events like the NAPT.
According to Leon Wheeler, Resorts World’s director of poker operations, a notable surge in online qualifiers is expected for the 2024 series. “I anticipate around 100 online qualifiers this year,” Wheeler stated. “It’s fantastic to see players step into a live event that might otherwise be out of their normal buy-in range.”

This robust online qualification system continues to broaden the spectrum of players heading to Las Vegas, ensuring a diverse and competitive field at every NAPT edition.
Special Events, Celebrities, and Festival Highlights
Beyond main tournaments, PokerStars NAPT 2024 is set to provide a dynamic festival atmosphere tailored for both poker professionals and casual fans.
Key highlights include the filming of “The Big Game” cash game, with NFL legend Rob Gronkowski and sports broadcaster Nick Wright participating in the high-stakes televised action.
A partnership with the RunGood Poker Series will bring an $1,100 co-branded tournament on November 4, offering a $400,000 guaranteed prize pool—the second-largest of the festival.
Poker players who favor variant formats can look forward to the Cardplayer Lifestyle Mixed Game Festival IX, featuring three unique tournaments: two with a $550 entry and one with a $5,300 buy-in, along with vibrant cash game activity.
Away from the felt, the NAPT’s hospitality shines through with an array of off-table events such as guided visits to the Sphere, exclusive player parties, go-kart races, karaoke sessions, and trips to iconic Vegas landmarks like the Strat Tower. This blend of competitive poker and memorable experiences ensures that everyone in attendance enjoys an unforgettable week—whether they cash big or simply come for the fun.
